Northampton are still in the bottom two, and at this point are going down to non-league, but Ricky Ravenhill isn’t concerned about things.

The experienced midfielder is actually very positive about the Cobblers’ chances of staying up and is convinced that they will going as far as saying that Northampton have ‘a better squad and better belief’ than their relegation rivals.

A squad that he wouldn’t swap with any of Northampton’s rivals.

Ravenhill told BBC Radio Northampton: ‘We’ve got a better squad and better belief than anyone else.

‘There’s a lot of pressure on games and you need the experience of players that have been in these big games before.

‘I wouldn’t swap any of our rivals’ teams around the relegation zone.

‘The lads are upbeat but I think we were anyway. We’ve always believed we’ve got enough to get out of the situation we’re in but the games are running out and it’s great to get the wins.’

Back-to-back wins has left Northampton on the cusp of moving out of the bottom two in league two and could move out of the drop zone if they can beat relegation rivals Wycombe Wanderers at Adam Park on Good Friday.

The Cobblers then face another rival Portsmouth at Sixfields on Easter Monday.

33-year-old Ravenhill says that he’s excited by both games and looks forward to them with him thriving on the pressure the relegation battle is bringing.
