Northampton couldn’t, in my opinion heading into this game, afford to lose against Bury really and had to get all three-points at Gigg Lane really – this looked on when we led but eventually we suffered an injury-time defeat.

Having taken an early lead, with us then playing against 10-men following a sending off, we would have expected to see out the game but a fine goal begged us back before an injury-time winner meant we ended up losing two-one.

We made a great start when Holmes (10), who was given the all-clear following an injury scare, put us into the lad and when Riley saw red for a rash challenge on Newey just after the break things looked even better.

Bury drew level though at the midway point of the second half when Etuhu (66) powered home from 20-yards. A point ended up being nothing when Hussey’s crossed to El-Abd (90+1) who was left unmarked to head home a winner and complete the turnaround.

We’re now five-points off the top seven, anything short of a win in our next game and it’s definitely all over but will we get it? Vote in the poll to your right.
