Northampton looked liked a point had been rescued at Sixfields on Saturday afternoon before a late winner condemned us to defeat and hardly got the call for consistency from Chris Wilder off to a positive start!

A one-nil deficit was overturned late on but a stunning late winner from Burton Albion saw them go away with a 2-1 win.

We really should have been ahead through Kaid Mohamed, only the winger will know how he managed to miss an open goal around the midway point of the first half.

It still looked like we would go into the break level, but former Cobblers loanee Jacob Blyth (45) struck on the stroke of half time to send Burton into the break one-up.

An equaliser was something we pressed for, and deserved to get, with this finally coming with 10-minutes to plat as Ryan Cresswell (80) scored for the second successive weekend when he came up for a corner to level.

The winning goal came from Alex MacDonald (85), and in spectacular fashion as he smashed home a 30-yard freekick to give the visitors the points.
