Northampton returned to winning league 2 ways this weekend with an away win on Saturday afternoon.

Last season a game against Dagenham & Redbridge was key to our league 2 revival and they were beaten again when we came away from Victoria Road with a 2-0 win.

Marc Richards (8) got us off to a dream start with an early goal. Kaid Mohamed pulled the ball across to Richards who kept his head to fire home his latest goal, of a so far productive season, past Dagenham ‘keeper Liam O’Brien.

At the midway point of the half Richards (23) was at it again as he headed past O’Brien from a Joel Byrom corner to extend our lead and send us into the break two goals to the good.

Matt Duke, and the Cobblers defence, weren’t overly troubled by the home side throughout the entire 90-minutes with it a deserved and relatively comfortable win with Duke’s only save of note seeing him turn a 25-yard Luke Howell effort over as we ran out two-nil winners.
