Cobblers defender Dean Beckwith believes Saturday’s visit of Stockport to Sixfields, is ‘huge’ for the team, if they are to fully put their promotion push back on track.

The Cobblers now find themselves out of all cup competition, and the former Hereford defender is fully focused on doing his bit to get the team climbing the League Two table.

‘The game against Stockport is very important,’ Beckwith told Northampton’s Chronicle and Echo.

‘We are now out of all cups, and the league is massive for us as nobody wants to be down at the bottom,’

‘We have to start picking up our results in the league, and our aim is still the play-offs,’

The Cobblers are back on home turf this weekend, and weather permitting, Beckwith can’t wait for Stockport to be the start of a promotion challenge as they head into the first of five, consecutive League Two fixtures.

‘The first target is to get out of the bottom half,’ Beckwith continued. ‘We can’t really look any further than that because of where we are in the table.’

‘Saturday is a huge game for us, and we are looking forward to it.’

This game is important for both clubs. After our recent performances the betting is that you will get a bag full. May the best team win.
