With lots to talk about, both on and off the field at Sixfields.. lets turn these healthy viewing figures into some comments shall we!

It’s now four defeats on the bounce and the Cobblers lay dangerously close to the Conference trapdoor. Nothing has ever looked like improving since Gary Johnson burst onto the scence. So do we..

STICK – and pray that our fortunes will somehow turn good? Or..

TWIST – by giving Gary the boot, taking us again back to square one in the hope a new face could revive any of the clubs remaining ambitions before it’s too late?

I was there last night and the mood around the place was very low. I have been very strongly behind Gary Johnson as I thought we were very lucky to get him based on his previous success. But there has to come a time when you say enough is enough. It doesn’t matter what the C.V says, things aren’t working out. There was absolutely no creativity in the midfield and Langmead, despite battling away, was just not effective up front. If you look at the decisions made by GJ in terms of the playing squad, his decisions have been woeful (how much could we have done with Osman and Thornton in that midfield last night). I know for sure I’m not the only one uncomfortable watching a team of peterboro rejects and a dons loanee play with no passion for the club. There has been no improvement since sammo was sacked, the only difference is we were probably saving a bit of money on the manager’s pay, and also at least the club means something to sammo. GJ needs to start earning his high salary. If he spent as much time yelling at the players and thinking of tactical changes as he did shouting at the linesman maybe we wouldn’t have been stuffed by the mighty Hereford. No Creativity and no pace at the back means we are going to get found out in every game. Holt and langmead should have been the other way around last night, at least holty has something about him to cause defenders problems. On a plus note I was impressed with the new lad up front, put a real shift in and everything promising we did seemed to be through him. Would still like to see Purcell given his chance personally. GJ is a good manager for sure, but maybe he just doesn’t fit the club. Look at Hodgson at Liverpool, no matter how good you are sometimes it just isn’t right. I’m sure Cardoza will stick by him for the near future, but once the fans turn on you its only a matter of time before the Chairman takes notice. The boos at the end were incredible and I don’t forsee a big turnout for the game at the weekend. I also don’t see us picking anything up against Rotheram then Shrewsbury away, will Cardoza still be as patient if we only have 15/16 points from 17 games?

Like i have said elsewhere give him two more games ,both tricky,to get something and see a vast improvement or get rid!

The situation must be worrying when the Cobblers have only got two more points than Saint Cobbler at the top of the Prediction League! Perhaps he’ll overtake them next week!
Seriously, though, it is beginning to look inevitable to me that there will be a change. No points from the last 12, including defeats against two of the lof the lower-placed teams. Perhaps the results against Rotherham and Shrewsbury will go our way – I hope so – but if not thenperhaps no points from 18 will surely force Johnson out.
