Matt Duke had been touted as a possible option for Northampton in the goalkeeping department a couple of weeks ago, and has been again now.

Duke had previously enjoyed a successful loan spell with The Cobblers and with him potentially becoming available this summer Aidy Boothroyd has admitted that he’d “be interest if he did”.

Bradford, following promotion after beating Northampton in the League Two play off final, have offered the 35-year-old a new deal but this would see him consigned as the clubs no.2 and at this stage of his career he’d be wanting first team football.

Duke would make a good signing if he did become available, not only for the season ahead but his experience and quality would rub off on the youngsters coming through at Sixfields too.
