Its not over, until its over

Although last game out, Bradford all but ended our play off hopes, I remain optimistic, come this weekend, that we can finish in a top seven position.

First things first, Northampton MUST win, and hope other results go in their favour.

Both Rotherham and Aldershot look certain to take the first two play off spots, securing the advantage of playing their second legs at home.

This leaves a mighty, SIX teams battling in out for the final two spaces.

Morecambe, Dagenham, Bury, Port Vale and Chesterfield all complete the play off picture.

Northampton host Bury this weekend, with no away win for the Shakers since February, the odds will be on a home win.

Next, Dagenham MUST lose away at Darlington, however sitting rock bottom of the league, an away win looks certain. This is the result all Cobblers fans will look out for first at full time on Saturday, a win for the Daggers, or even a draw, will se them finish, at least seventh.

Assuming Dagenham do lose, and Cobblers win, both will finish on 69 points, but Northampton have a slightly better goal diffrence of two goals. This would see them finish seventh if other results go their way.

Port Vale are in the same situation as us, they must win to have any chance of a top seventh finish. The Cobblers will be hoping Shrewsbury can avoid defeat against them on Saturday.

Bournemouth, already promoted, travel to Chesterfield, a draw would be enough, assuming already Dagenham lose and Port Vale don’t win.

Morecambe and Aldershot both play each other this weekend. This result won’t affect the Cobblers position if one was to win, Dagenham lose and Port Vale fail to win against Shrewsbury.

These results would see Northampton finish 7th:

Northampton 1-0 Bury
We have to win!

Darlington 1-0 Dagenham
A point would see Dagenham finish seventh, the Cobblers losing out by a point

Chesterfield 1-1 Bournemouth
We need Bournemouth to at least, draw this one, a home win would see the Spiretes finish seventh, the Cobblers losing out by a point

Morecambe 1-0 Aldershot

Port Vale 1-1 Shrewsbury
Again a win for Port Vale would see them finish seventh.

Hopefully all which I have stated above is correct. I have come up with these results using the BBC Sports Predictor.
