Chris Wilder knows Northampton, not only top of the league but on a good run of form, are in a good place at the moment with him keen to keep this impressive run going against relegation threatened York.

He told the Official Website.

‘We had a good run in January but the most important thing now is Saturday and keeping the run going. We are in a good place on and off the pitch at the moment but there are still a lot of games to go this season and a lot of points to play for.’

York might be in trouble, looking to stay in League 2, whereas the Cobblers are pushing for promotion into League 1 but Wilder knows this will be a tough game adding Alan Knill went to watch them last weekend with him coming away ‘quite impressed.’

This will be a ‘free hit’ for the Minstermen as they’ll not be expected to get anything, he knows this doesn’t mean they’ll not mind.

‘Saturday is a bit of a free hit for York as no one will expect them to get a result but it doesn’t work like that. We will need to make sure that we show all the attributes and qualities that we have done to win games this year.’

Due to the form in January, not only from Wilder but Ricky Holmes too (with him winning the Player of the Month award), the boss took the Manager of the Month accolade with him finishing by saying he’s keen for us to keep going.

‘We can’t deny we are in a good position points wise but we also know that we need to nail down our games in hand.’
