Having failed to get the Northampton job, and with Chris Wilder confirmed as the next boss, Andy King’s time with the club has come to an end.

David Cardoza said he wanted to keep King at Sixfields, and is disappointed that he’s decided to move on, but he wishes him and thanked him for his efforts during his caretaker role.

The Cobblers chairman Cardoza said: ‘We are disappointed that Andy has chosen to leave but we wish him well.

‘He did a very good job in difficult circumstances over the last few weeks, and he conducted himself with great dignity and in good humour.’
