Northampton got back to winning ways on Saturday with a convincing win over York, which was helped massively by some shocking defending from the visitors. Early goals in either half set us on our way to a three-nil win at Sixfields.

We had already gone close before Hackett (4) was able to beat Olejnik to give us an early chance, further chances followed but Peterborough loanee ‘keeper Olejnik kept us out, with York’s threat minimal.

One became two within three-minutes of the second half when Moloney (48) fired in the second with Duke pulling off a fine save to keep out Benning, and prevent a possible comeback before a penalty came when Benning fouled Holmes. Richards stepped up but saw this saved by Olejnik.

Toney (89) did wrap up the win in the last minute when he converted after a Carter pull back.
