It was a long time in coming but Northampton eased the pressure last weekend with an impressive win.

Can we do it again at Oxford when we travel to the Kassam Stadium on Saturday?

Roy O’Donovan (ankle) and Chris Hackett (groin), who formerly played for Oxford, are rated as 50:50 for this game.

Definitely out though are Clive Platt (thigh), Matt Heath (thigh), Kelvin Langmead (knee) and Alex Nicholls (leg) remain sidelined.

Northampton won at AFC Wimbledon last week as we deserved to, keeping the momentum going is something that Aidy Boothroyd is keen to see the case when we travel to the U’s tomorrow.

However he knows it’s a tough game to be taking on, Boothroyd told BBC Radio Northampton: ‘We need to maintain what we have done in the last couple of games and we are in a position at the moment where we have just got to dig out results.

‘We need to go there and put up a good fight, we’ve worked really hard in the last two games but the next game is always the hardest.

‘We were worthy winners at Wimbledon but when you come out of a period like we have it’s important that you keep putting points on the board.

‘Having a settled defence has made a massive difference and it has given us a great base to build from.’

I think a lot depends on how much confidence we really have taken from that win last season, as if we have gained plenty from it and genuinely believe we can win at Oxford then why shouldn’t we as they haven’t found it easy going at home.

A point would be a good one but I’m going to say that momentum will take us forward and we’ll win again!

Would you agree?
