Seth Nana-Twumasi’s injury ravaged spell with Northampton will come to an end this summer.

The defender ruptured his cruciate knee ligament back in September 2011 and hasn’t added to his 17 appearances for the club prior to this since, but he’s now fully fit again.

Aidy Boothroyd has confirmed that the 22-year-old isn’t being offered a new deal when his existing one ends: ‘I’ve spoken to Nana about his future and we won’t be offering him a contract for next year.’

Nana-Twumasi isn’t being retained as it’s a different Northampton now to the one he joined two-years ago under previous manager Gary Johnson but The Cobblers boss has praised his commitment and is keen to help the right back find himself a new club, adding: ‘We’re a different club now to the one that he joined.

‘Hopefully we can get him organised and help him find another club.

‘He’s always got a smile on his face, he works extremely hard but there’ll be nothing here for him next year.’

Best of luck to Nana-Twumasi, who I’m sure will find himself a new club, for the future.
