Northampton Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by John-Joe O’Toole in the three one victory over Chesterfield at the weekend at Sixfield’s Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why O’Toole was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Northampton claimed an important home win against Chesterfield, and O’Toole was in the right place at the right time to put them on their way. Having already headed the Cobblers in front, the midfielder soon added to his tally by following up a blocked effort in the 3-1 success.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to O’Toole for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Joe Lumley (Bristol Rovers), Mat Sadler (Shrewsbury Town), Sean Morrison (Cardiff City), Jamaal Lascelles (Newcastle United), George Cooper (Crewe Alexandra), Alex Pritchard (Norwich City), John-Joe O’Toole (Northampton Town), Aiden McGeady (Preston North End), Kevin Ellison (Morecambe), Danny Hylton (Luton Town), Tomer Hemed (Brighton).

Manager – Derek Adams (Plymouth Argyle).
