Northampton’s play-off bid probably suffered it’s terminal blow on Saturday when we lost at Stevenage, despite having led…. Anything but a win at Chris Wilder’s former side Oxford and it’s curtains for sure.

As Oxford sit pretty in midtable they’ll either ease off, potentially allowing us to make the most of it, or play with no pressure and be even harder to beat at the Kassam Stadium. We know it’s simple though, we must win!

Oxford are likely to be without Patrick Hoban (dead leg) following injury in the draw with AFC Wimbledon. Andy Whing and George Baldock will miss out.

17-goal top goalscorer Marc Richards (Achilles) could return to the squad but he might not be risked now given that the play-off seem unlikely, and saved just in case we get back into the mix?

Ryan Cresswell and Jason Taylor (both suspension) will sit out with Ricky Holmes a doubt again after missing the two-one defeat at Stevenage.

As said, quite clearly, it’s a win or nothing for us tonight! Northampton quite simply have to win or it’s definitely season over, but will we?
