A Question & Answer session with ex Northampton Town Player Liam Dolman…
Local lad Liam Dolman came through the ranks at Northampton Town and made 45 appearances for the club before moving to Kidderminster, Corby and finally settling at his current club Banbury United. He is captain of the side and led the Puritans to safety in the Evo-Stik Southern League. Liam kindly answered some questions for us :
Q) What was the best moment during your time at Northampton Town?
A) Captaining the side out at Gresty Road, sadly we lost.
Q) If you could score an injury time winner against any club who would it be?
A) Peterborough at a packed out Sixfields, ‘We are the Boro haters’
Q) Which is the best and worst ground you have played at?
A) Leeds was the best, the atmosphere was amazing. The worst would be Darlington, the polar opposite of Leeds when it comes to atmosphere.
Q) Which attribute of yours do you feel needs most work?
A) Obviously I need to keep tabs on my fitness when playing full time.
Q) There were rumours you were released from Northampton after returning after the summer break, unfit, any truth in that?
A) Rubbish, I worked non stop over that summer to get into good shape, whatever I did I felt I was never going to be offered a deal.
Q) Do you still harbour hopes of breaking back into full time professional football?
A) Obviously the dreams still there but it’s going to be hard for me now but if the opportunity comes I’d love it (very doubtful though).
Q) During your time at NTFC who had the worst dress sense?
A) Colin Larkin, used to wear supermarket jeans and supermarket jumpers, low value ones at that.
Q) Who had the worst taste in music?
A) Without question it was Abdul Osman, he might have silenced the Kop by his musical taste was horrendous.
Q) Who was the worst trainer during your time at Cobblers?
A)Paoul Hubertz
Q) The FA ask you to make one improvement to the game of football in England, what would you do?
A) It would have to be tackling, the game is becoming non contact. I love tackling and also it gets the crowd up off their seats.

A) Rio
Q) Pro Evo or FIFA?
A) Fifa
Q) If I gave you an elephant where would you hide it?
A) Mums knickers draw, you can use her thongs as blankets.
Q) What was the best thing before sliced bread?
A) Breasts.
Q) What was your first car?
A) VW Polo, still drive it now.
Q) Who is your idol?
A) My Father.
Q) Funniest moment on a football pitch?
A) A tough one to pick but me and Hughesy (Mark Hughes) always joke about chipping the ball over Ricardo Gardners head when we played Bolton – ‘DON’T GO FOR THEM RICARDO’

Q) Who will win Euro 2012 and Where will Cobblers finish this season?
A) England will win Euro 2012 and Cobblers will finish 10th.
