Striker To Go Out On Loan

Movement of strikers coming in isn’t the only movement we’ll be seeing at Sixfields in the coming days.

The arrival of the striker that Aidy Boothroyd has been speaking about bringing in all week is imminent, ideally being done before the weekend with it suggested this could be Michael Manset?

Another striking arrival will limit the chances of JJ Hooper though…

With that in mind, but the need for the former Newcastle man to play first team football, Boothroyd has said that he’s looking to explore the option of sending him out on loan to a non-league side for him to play some football.

Hooper was signed on a one-year contract in the summer after a successful trial, following his release by the premier league outfit, but even at that time the boss had said that he wasn’t expecting the 20-year-old to make a breakthrough into the first team until later in the season.

A part, albeit limited, has been played but sending him out on loan is probably the best thing for all concerned and could (at least should) see him return to the Cobblers better for this and he can then look to push his claims for an extended deal before his existing one ends!
