Northampton are set for a takeover with an Indian consortium agreeing a deal with David Cardoza last week, until it’s fully signed off we’re left in something of a limbo state.

Chris Wilder though, as he’s commented on the BBC, isn’t concerned.

As far as he’s thinking it’s ‘business as usual’ and he’ll continue his effort to put the ‘finishing touches’ to the squad he wants in place for the next season with him well aware of what he’s still after.

‘As far as I’m concerned, it’s business as usual. I’ll be trying to add finishing touches to a squad that I’m sure will go well this year.

‘We’ve made some excellent signings, we’re very close on another goalkeeper today and we recognise that we still need to bring in a centre-half, midfield player and a forward player.’

Wilder went onto speak highly of Cardoza and praise him for the job he’s done at Sixfields over the past 12-years saying that he has complete faith and trust in him and the decisions that he makes.

In fact the Cobblers manager said that Cardoza was the main reason he came the club as he’s ‘not a selfish person’ and the ‘long-term view and ambition’ he had for the club, which is something we’ll be hoping this consortium also share!
