The 2014/15 league 2 season moved into the second weekend with Northampton in action again, at home on this occasion.

Northampton secured a 1-1 draw at York City on Saturday afternoon, a late, late goal keeping our unbeaten run in tact.

Ivan Toney showed his inexperience early on, showing that despite the quality that he possesses he is still raw, when he finished wastefully just minutes into the game when presented with a good chance and having time to pick his spot.

York should have gone ahead when Lindon Meikle got through one-on-one with Matt Duke, but his effort was saved by the veteran when the striker shot straight at him.

Toney almost had us one-nil up at the break but his next effort was cleared off the line by Marvin McCoy as the sides went in level at the break.

York made the breakthrough when Duke was beaten by Anthony Straker (67) at the midway point of the second half.

We put the pressure on a little but York still look set to see out a one-nil win, until Marc Richards (90) shot home a last minute freekick to give us a point and a one-one draw to keep our unbeaten start to the campaign in place.
