Beast Mode At Priestfield

Gillingham have resigned former Northampton striker Adebayo Akinfenwa, a couple of years after he left Priestfield.

The 31-year-old, who spent the 2010/11 season with the Gills, parted company with Northampton in the summer after they lost in the League Two play off final but will now be back in League One with Gillingham for at least one-year after signing his year-long contract.

Akinfenwa has the look of a bouncer about him but he definitely has ability, the second half of last season was poor for him but he still managed 17-goals for the Cobblers and if he can score a fraction of that amount this season it’ll go a long way to, at least, keeping Gillingham up!

It’s a shame that “beast mode” isn’t going to be seen at Sixfields this season but the big man will be wished well back at his former club.
