Northampton Transfer Activity

The much hoped for goal scorer has failed to materialise before the transfer deadline.

tuart has Gray has signed 34 year old midfielder Alex Russell on loan for a month from Bristol City. He can hopefully help to calm the youthful midfield. He has a reputation of being a solid midfielder and has come to the Cobblers to get some games under his belt!

Sam Aiston has gone out on loan to Burton Albion and clearly doesn`t feature in Gray`s plans.

Am I alone in thinking that we still do not have a squad anything like good enough for this league? Despite promises being made that money is available for strengthened the side it clearly isn`t. S

imon Cox has signed on loan for Swindon Town and was the player many fans hoped would sign permanently after a successful loan spell at Sixfields last year. Whether money or a team closer to his home swayed the decision we may never know.

Our inability to attract quality players is very worrying and can only point to lack of resources and/or ambition.

League 2 here we come.
