and our new striker Andy Holt scored his third goal in three matches. I wonder whether Gray intended him to play quite so far forward in his advanced left midfield role!

Gray put out an almost full strength side. Dunn replaced Bunn in goal, Crowe, Hughes Dolman and Jackman formed the back line, Doig was still injured; a midfield of Aiston, Gilligan, Johnson and Holt; and a frontline of Kirk and Henderson.

Holt scored from another Aiston through ball, Aiston himself hit the bar as did Brad Johnson from a free kick. Despite the victory, Gray was not happy. On Northampton`s official site he stated that he wants the team to be more ruthless, particularly in front of goal.

Goal scoring has been a problem for the Cobblers for two seasons or more. With Holt the leading scorer at the moment it isn`t looking like Gray has sorted the 20 goals a season striker yet.

Cobblers` are next in action on Saturday when they play Ian Dowie`s Coventry City at Sixfields, kick off 3pm.
