Northampton Win Maunsell Honours

Goals from Brad Johnson, Ian Henderson and Colin Larkin gave Northampton victory at Rushden. Nene Park saw the traditional season opener of the Northamptonshire Football Associations Maunsell Cup.

Debuts were handed to new boys Poul Hubertz and Daniel Jones. The Cobblers dominated the game from the beginning and played some fast attacking football. Rushden couldn`t really live with them and looked a poor side.

So it`s the real thing on Saturday. The signings of Hubertz and Jones have ensured that Gray has a selection headache against Swindon. Preview to follow.
