Northampton’s play-off hopes were kept alive, just about, but our comeback draw at AFC Wimbledon has effectively ended their faint hopes of making the top seven at the end of the season.

At two-nil down with a ΒΌ of the game to go we wouldn’t have expected much but two quick goals made sure that we came away with a point from a two-two draw at the Kingsmeadow Stadium on Good Friday.

A goalless first half saw the game burst into life just ahead of the hour when Rigg (58) was left unmarked to head home for AFC Wimbledon with Reeves (60) smashing home a second on the hour into the top corner.

If we were to get something we had to get back into the game quickly, and we did!

Firstly Holmes set up Gray (66) to reduce the deficit with a finish from close range and then just three-minutes later Maloney’s freekick saw our Accrington loanee Gray (69) make it two-two and earn us a potentially crucial point.

A failure to win did see us drop down to 11th but we’re still within four-points of Plymouth in seventh, and a place and three-points ahead of our hosts, so still have hopes of the play-offs but know we’ve got to win on Easter Monday against Cambridge to make it a successful Easter programme!

Will we?
